PriceClaw ("we", "us", "our") operates priceclaw.app. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Data we collect

We collect your email address for authentication, Costco receipt images and extracted item data for price monitoring, and price check results. We do not collect payment card data directly — Stripe handles all payment processing.

How we use your data

Receipt data is used exclusively to monitor Costco prices for items you purchased. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

Data security

All data is stored in Supabase with Row Level Security enabled. Only you can access your receipts, claims, and price watch data. Receipt images are stored in a private Supabase Storage bucket.

Data retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) disclosures

If you are a California resident, the CCPA grants you specific rights regarding your personal information. The following disclosures are provided in accordance with CCPA requirements.

Categories of personal information collected

  • Identifiers: email address, name, and account credentials.
  • Commercial information: Costco receipt images, parsed item data, purchase history, and price adjustment claims.
  • Internet or electronic network activity: usage data, browser type, device information, and interaction logs collected automatically when you use the service.

Sources of personal information

  • Directly from you: information you provide when creating an account, uploading receipts, or contacting support.
  • Automatically: data collected via cookies, analytics tools, and server logs when you interact with priceclaw.app.

Business purpose for collection

We collect personal information to provide the PriceClaw service, including parsing receipts, monitoring Costco prices for your purchased items, sending price drop alerts, and calculating trip prediction scores. We also use data to improve the service, prevent fraud, and communicate important account updates.

Your CCPA rights

  • Right to know: you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to delete: you may request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to opt-out of sale: PriceClaw does not sell your personal data to third parties. We have never sold personal information and have no plans to do so.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

PriceClaw does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. This applies to all users, including California residents. No opt-out mechanism is necessary because we do not engage in the sale of personal data.
